In the poem “Boy at the Windowpane, ” Rich Wilbur uses imagery, tone, and theme to show what his goal in this composition is. At the conclusion of the poem, the author wishes the reader to know that we should never feel bad or sad regarding something that we don’t understand. Richard Wilbur’s use of symbolism in the composition helps all of us to understand his purpose of this kind of poem. The stanzas in the poem color two entirely pictures in your mind when you browse them. The first stanza makes you see the snowman as being a blue subject that is usually lonely. The second stanza paints the picture from the snowman’s watch of the very little child who may be sad regarding something that he does not figure out. In the 1st stanza, the poem is usually showing how the little boy views the snowman “standing every alone” and “returns him such a Godforsaken stare”. The little young man sees the snowman because lonely and creates a gloomy image of the snowman in your mind. In the second stanza, heard the snowman’s view from the little child in the home window and how the little boy will not understand. The snowman is usually shown because sad inside the second stanza, but not as the little boy would not understand that the snowman is usually happy outside. It is because the tiny boy must not be sad if he is warm inside his home, between love, and yet so anxious and moved about the snowman staying alone (“such warmth, this sort of light, these kinds of love, therefore much fear”). So the publisher creates a really good sense of imagery throughout the poem because of how you see the snowman at first, then your picture in your mind changes at the time you hear lack of of the history. The abominable snowman is “ non-etheless, content” so he is not unfortunate being outside or staying all alone. The snowman’s vision is seen as “soft” and his split is seen as “a trickle with the purest rain”. When you use the term “purest” that doesn’t connect with sad or happy situations because the expression describes a neutral event. The poet person creates a superb tone through the entire entire composition, which is miserable for the first stanza and kind of neutral intended for the second stanza.
