Modern Family Essay

The show “Modern Family” is one of the most effective sitcom on television today. The show depicts a total of three households, a parent family, (Jay and Gloria) and the groups of the two expanded siblings, (Mitchell & Claire). Claire is married to Phil and has three children that belongs to them, while Mitchell is a gay and lesbian father which has a live-in hubby, Cameron. The on-screen worldview of the families are very open up with a nearly anything should go attitude that may be based on an atheist or an agnostics perspective. The limited volume of demonstrates that I viewed did not display any referrals to The almighty. The family values pictured the “New Normal”, that is currently being provided on innovative television shows. On the show, I seen a lot of light-hearted moments that built fun from the life options that each character made, and how different heroes resolved these people. The comedy is situational, and problems faced tend to be real-life, although offer whimsical, light-hearted alternatives. The shows worldview is definitely secular, yet adheres to defining the “New Normal” in its program. The three people all connect to each other and depict 3 different types of homes, all handling everyday issues that define that particular group. Once dealing with homosexual issues, Mitchel and Cameron are inside the fore front side offering an exaggerated look and perspective. Family concerns are addressed by Phil cannella and Clairette, and how they interact with parenting of their three children. The writer and Elegancia deal with lifestyle from viewpoint of an maturing father, who also marries a younger girl, who is at the moment pregnant along with his child. The shows key values happen to be loosely interwoven with criteria and procedures that suggest an whatever is “OK” attitude, which usually would be portrayed by seglar humanist. Findings of this demonstrate are based on my own personal up-bring and just how we managed different situations in our lives. My Christian parents may not have been thus excepting of two men living collectively. Our family assumed that marital life is among a man and a woman. “‘Do not have intimate relations with a man as one does which has a woman; that may be detestable”, (Leviticus 18: 22, NIV). Us values were centered on our Catholic trust, whereas we believed and trusted in the Lord. In the show, Phil (husband of Claire) can be portrayed as being a weak fatherly figure, who is generally laughed for and scorned by his family. He constantly wants to be everyone’s friend and does not fall into the role of your strong and guiding power within his family. In comparison, my father was your head of the household, and for a long time he was the sole company. Both house of worship and prayer were a huge part of our daily lives. These are beliefs and traditions that I have exceeded onto my children. My landscapes are in direct comparison to this sitcom. Its impact on my family is incredibly little since I was not a standard viewer and the show is known as a negative effect on my personal worldview. I think that the effect of this display on the American public is restricted in range. Many persons watch and except the shows premise for what it truly is, just a funny comedy that truly has no real value or worth. Other folks will see that as an example of how a modern family should behave and produce those same dynamics in their household. I see this kind of show like a negative impact when it comes to the family. Television set has a way of healthy diet public view. If enough similar programing is available, we all as a society tend to recognize the “New Normal” without question. In conclusion, the show “Modern Family, ” is a portrayal of the American family that presents an atheist view on life. I could see no mention of the God or maybe a slight recommendation that the relatives has a faith based background. In today’s contemporary society the is always becoming redefined by the media and has no spiritual insight. Tv networks record on interpersonal and ethical issues is extremely poor. The tv executives imagine the theory that they can be open and honest, and present an item that the public desires. Modern Family is one networks’ answer to precisely what is considered the “New Normal”, in today culture.
