D. No . 223, since amended, the Board of Professional Educators hereby adopts and promulgates the “Code of Integrity for Professional Teachers. ” What does code of ethics means? Ethics is hard to define however it is made up of two things.  First integrity refers to well-founded standards of right and wrong that prescribe what humans should do, usually in terms of rights, responsibilities, benefits to society, justness, or certain virtues. Second, ethics refers to the study and development of one’s ethical standards… it is necessary to constantly examine one’s standard to ensure that they are fair and well-founded. Ethics also means, then, the continuous efforts of studying our own ethical beliefs and our moral conduct, and striving to ensure we, and the institutions all of us help to condition, live up to standards that are sensible and solidly based. PREAMBLE Teachers are duly licensed professionals who have possess pride and status with high moral ideals as well as specialized and professional competence. Inside the practice with their noble profession, they strictly adhere to, watch and practice this set of ethical and moral principles, standards, and values. Article I This Code includes all community and private school teachers in all educational institutions at the kindergarten, primary, elementary, and secondary levels
