This dissertation is arranged into three separate research (appendices) that I intend to publish in peer-examined journals. The initial appendix presents a report that establishes a most recent Pleistocene age group for volcanic eruptions at Zuni Salt Lake. The next appendix evaluates the hypothesis that the late Holocene hydroclimatic background of springtime discharge at Cienega Amarilla is usually driven largely by variants in El NiГ±o regularity and strength and the resultant variants in winter precipitation. The 3rd appendix examines the type and timing of fluvial geomorphic modification in mid-elevation valley and piedmont regions of the Carrizo Clean watershed and identifies the climatic elements driving this landscape switch. Each one of these appendices is explained in greater detail below.
